One of the most popular solutions for storing and transporting liquids is certainly the classic blue plastic drum. Industrial plastic drums are one of the most commonly used storing, packaging and transporting solutions. Made from tough rigid plastic, these drums can last for a long time and can be sealed incredibly well. This means that they are often used to transport oils, juices, food flavourings and colourings, sauces and other liquids.
We supply both open top plastic drums and tight head plastic drums here at First Check Containers (Pty) Ltd, all available in a number of different sizes. While most often used in the food industry, our plastic containers are all UN approved making them suitable for the transport and storage of hazardous materials such as chemicals and detergents.

Universally recognised as one of the most reliable and long-lasting industrial storage containers, our blue plastic drums are secure, hardwearing and suitable for storing and transporting a range of different goods. We supply two main kinds of plastic drum:
Open Top Plastic Drums From 30 Liter to 300 Liter
Supplied with a securely fitting lid that is entirely removable, our open top plastic drums can be tightly and securely sealed with a steel clamp. We supply open top drums in the following sizes. Our open top plastic drums come with the following features:

- Made specifically using food-grade material
- Containers supplied with plastic lid and gasket for security and excellent sealing capability
- Tamper evident steel closing ring
- UN Approved packing group ll certified for solid or granular material
- UN Approved for transportation of hazardous materials
- 30 litre, 50 litre, 60 litre, 80 litre, 100 litre and 120 litre models come with two side handles for manual transport
Close Top Plastic Drums From 100 Liter to 300 Liter
We also supply entirely sealed tight head plastic drums. These drums come with an unremovable lid for extra sealing and security of the product. We supply tight head plastic drums in four sizes: 100 liter, 210 liter, 250 liter and 300 liter.
Our tight head plastic drums come with the following features:
- Colour: Blue as standard
- No handles
- Manufactured from specific food-grade material
- Containers supplied with threaded bung closure
- UN Approved packing group ll certified for liquid material
- UN Approved for transportation of hazardous materials
- Delivery & Return
At First Check Containers we’ve tried to make the delivery process as simple as possible. The delivery charge will be clearly added to your quotation so that you are fully informed before you commit to payment.
Delivery to most part of South Africa is 2-3 business days but you can also upgrade to Next Day or AM delivery if preferred. Delivery to other parts of South Africa can take up to 7 business days. We also deliver to most countries in the SADC region.

If you receive your delivery and for some reason you’re not entirely happy and wish to return it, please contact our Customer Support team via direct calls or on WhatsApp on +27 72-225-0731 within 48 hours and they issue you with a return document. All we ask is that you return the goods to us within 07 days of issuing the returns document and we’ll either refund or issue a replacement.
